Author Linda Holmes handled the complicated topic of grief so well. It’s so different for everyone and sometimes makes us act in strange ways. I thought it was beautiful that while Evvie is grieving her husband, Dean is grieving his career and life passion. Both are something we grieve over and neither is bigger or more important than the other, because everyone handles things differently and Dean and Evvie used eachother to find a way out of dark places.

It was beautiful, parts were funny, parts had me crying, and it was so real and raw but was sealed up with a happy ending so you didn’t feel emotionally wrecked at the end.
