One Day in December

One Day in December Review💫

I only gave this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 stars and I am not sure why I didn’t love it love it TBH. I think I just don’t like reading realistic romance it just feels too dang depressing! I also wasn’t a huge fan of the constant time jumps, it made for a harder to follow story. Honestly I’m not why I didn’t love it but I didn’t. It just didn’t make me fall in love with the characters. I felt like the love at first sight for bus boy plot could’ve gone so well but at the end of the day Jack was just such a boring character for all this mayhem!

Quick summary since this has been everywhere: Laurie and Sarah are BFFs and roommates. In London one day in December, Laurie sees a man on the bus and she makes eye contact with him and is obsessed from that minute on. After Christmas, still obsessing, she meets Sarah’s new boyfriend, and it’s bus boy AKA Jack and Sarah says she’s going to marry him so Laurie doesn’t say anything. Her and Jack immediately recognize eachother.

Through the next few years they grow closer in friends, screw up a few times, and they grow up. Eventually Laurie meets Oscar and they are in their happy couples, but deep down Laurie and Jack continue to pine for eachother. Nine years later, after a wedding, a ruined friendship, and a breakup, Laurie and Jack reconnect in a romantic, storybook ending. However all the drama in between I was bored reading about and frustrated how unlikable Jack was for these girls to ruin their friendship over! Ugh!! Anyway, if you like realistic love stories and want a quick holiday read, I’d recommend this to you! I did like it, it wasn’t a terrible book, just not for me🤷🏼‍♀️ My six word review:
Nine years of heartache for him???!
