I finally finished The Testaments and I’m here with an unpopular opinion for y’all … I didn’t love it.
I absolutely loved The Handmaids Tale, I chose to read it and write a paper about it in high school and it’s stuck with me for years since. I’m a fan of the show (although the constant zooming in on Elisabeth’s face is a lil annoying now) and was really excited to read this one. It just fell a bit flat for me.
I struggled to follow who was speaking, and it felt so obvious what was going on. It was a very predictable story and ending to me and the characters just felt a little bland. Aunt Lydia was by far the best character development wise, but there was so much more potential for everyone else. It didn’t deserve the hype and really missed the mark for me.
I give this ⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars.
My six word review:
Trying too hard to be revolutionary
It’s an unpopular opinion, I know. What did you think of The Testaments?
