Daisy Jones and the Six

Omg I get the hype

I read Daisy Jones and the Six in like 4 hours and it was so good. I loved the writing style in interviews, I love the story. I’m obsessed with Taylor Jenkins Reid!

This book was everywhere in 2019 and I wish I would’ve read it sooner! I devoured it and will forever recommend it to everyone omg.

I do want to include a few trigger warnings: drug abuse, alcohol abuse, mentions of suicide, abuse

I’m not a rock and roll kind of person but this book made me want to be rock and roll for a few hours and at the same time it cemented in my drug free lifestyle choices as being smart. It was so complex and fascinating learning how a song is written and produced and how albums were put together (I’m borderline millennial we don’t do records anymore ☹️ ) and the chemistry between Billy and Daisy is like a rubber band, you keep pulling on it it because it makes a great sound, but it’s going to snap.

Billy is the frontman for The Six, and up and coming rock and roll band, Daisy is an up and coming singer/songwriter and after mild successes for both artists, a producer suggests they collaborate. Their song skyrockets them into fame. Their chemistry and voices are unbeatable. They create an incredible album that skyrockets to the top of the charts but like the rubber band it’s going to snap. Billy has a wife and 3 kids. He is a recovering addict. Daisy is a hot mess express with a major drug problem. The other bandmates have their own problems with Billy, each other, and while sex, drugs, and rock and roll make a great youth, it catches up with them all.

Daisy Jones and the Six is all about empowered women making the best decisions for themselves at the end of the day. Karen, Camila, and Daisy are badass women. They aren’t perfect and have their struggles and demons, but I admire them all.
This book is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars hands down. If you haven’t read this you are missing out!

My six word review:
Love, drugs, and rock and roll
