Half Sick of Shadows

Apparently I’m really into the mythology retellings because I read this King Arthur retelling and now I’m reading A Touch of Darkness (a Hades and Persephone retelling)

It took me a bit of time to get into Half Sick of Shadows and it was a different twist on the retelling but I enjoyed seeing more of a character development for Morgana and Elaine.

I didn’t love the way the author portrayed Arthur (he was shallow and sorta dumb tbh) and where are the rest of his knights of the round table?! That’s like the coolest part of Arthur. Anywayyyyyyyy that’s my thoughts it was underwhelming and disappointing.

It wasn’t the best book I’ve ever read honestly, it was a bit slow and I wasn’t happy with the ending, but I did finish it, enjoyed parts of it, and knocked another BOTM book off my TBR so there’s that!

Do you read retellings?

My six word review:
King Arthur but he’s kinda dumb •
