I almost didn’t finish this one. It was just SO SLOW and took forever for real action to start! I just was not in the mood to wait for 60% of the story to happen before it got interesting. I also thought Maria Owens was so unlikeable so that didn’t help. Once it did pick up I enjoyed the story so I did rate it 3 stars and I think I’ll stick with it but it is bordering on 2 stars depending on my mood!

I’m trying to read the whole series for @thereadroversbookclub this month (HBD babe btw!) but I was so annoyed with this one and it was getting close to the end of the month so I jumped past The Rules of Magic and went into Practical Magic which I liked so much more!
