re you feeling the post season 2 of Bridgerton blues? Me too.

Or at least, I was until I read this book because while it looks like a regency, it’s got Shonda Rhimes-ified Bridgerton vibes ALL THE WAY

The Heiress Gets A Duke was recommended and then gifted to me by @what.ems.reading because she loved it so much! I trust her opinion, dived right in, and loved every second of this book!

The cover is totally deceiving thinking it’s just another mass market regency romance (totally has a time and place but they usually aren’t my cup of tea) but The Heiress Gets A Duke is so much more.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We’ve got a strong woman who is helping her father run his Iron business making that $$ and not ready to settle down. August goes with her family to London from America and her mom starts scheming to marry her sister to a duke, but August isn’t going to let that happen. Especially when she realizes this Duke is the same prize fighter who saved her and kissed her! What a rake! However when her parents schemes catch up with her and she needs to make a choice, she has to come to terms with her heart and the plans she thought she had for her life.

10/10 would recommend! It’s sexy, it’s fun, it’s regency, but feels modern! It totally feels like an alternative POV to Bridgerton season 2 and I’m not mad about it!

Em, thanks for the recommendation and the gift!!

My six word review:
Sexy regency romance that feels modern
