And since this was the number one recommended book by bestie @thereadroversbookclub let’s take a page from her book and review it her style!

I picked this up as part of a massive Rover buddy read and it being Lauren’s fave I had to give it an honest chance. The first chunk of the book, I wasn’t sure what I thought beyond WTF ARE YOU CHEATING?!

Well that was what I was thinking in between trying to follow who was the narrator every chapter!

It was a bit of chaos but then once you get to know all the characters you can follow what they are doing and that’s also a good/bad thing. Good because at least you aren’t confused, bad because they are doing some DUMB ASS SHIT

So how do I wrap this up and say I loved the book? Well I hated every character and everything they did but through the story you learn they couldn’t help it based on their circumstances and upbringing. It was heartbreaking and sad and inevitable and love makes you stupid.

If you’ve watched the show Shameless, you might get it. They make every wrong choice because they just don’t see other options because their upbringing and circumstances didn’t and don’t help lead them down the right path.

Okay so this is a long way of saying I am giving it 4 stars it was angry and beautiful and real and tragic so ….
