The Wives

Wild. This book was a RIDE!

My heart was racing, my blood was boiling, I was mildly confused and it was all worth it! The TWIST you guys!!!!!!!!! The whole book I was like “this is what gaslighting is and I don’t like it” and then at the end I was like crap what really was the truth???!!!! For those who don’t know, gaslighting is an abusive tactic to psychologically manipulate someone into believing their crazy. Phrases like “that’s not what happened you are imagining things” and “you are crazy I never did that” are some basic examples that COULD be gaslighting with the right context.

This is one of those thriller types like Gone Girl or Verity. You don’t know what’s happening till it’s happened and the whole book you are as lost as the characters and then the end it is all revealed.

Summary of The Wives: The wives are known by the days of the week they are visited by their husband. They practice polygamy in a new form where they don’t know the other wives at all. Monday is pregnant, Tuesday was the first wife, and Thursday is the middle wife, who _ divorced his first wife to marry her.

All is well, until Thursday starts to learn more about the other wives, and she can’t stay in the dark anymore. The mystery of the other wives begins to unravel and takes Thursday with it.

Y’all, this was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars for me. I finished it in like an hour and a half, I flew through it. 10/10 would recommend adding this to your next BOTM box it’s fantastic and isn’t too suspenseful or scary!

TW: domestic abuse, mental illness, child loss/miscarriage, mental institutions, GASLIGHTING!
