THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW

I finished THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW yesterday morning and was thoroughly shook and confused. I’m not typically a thriller/suspense reader if it’s not a romance but I enjoyed this one.

It was a bit creepy, sure, but it wasn’t as scary as I thought. It was more confusing and honestly frustrating to read. You read from the main characters mind and perspective and she is dealing with severe PTSD and agoraphobia. She also mixes her medications with a massive amount of wine so she is just not super reliable. It can be hard to follow what’s happening and discern between her visions and the truth and that lost some of the luster of the novel for me. She sees a murder happen but nobody believes her because she’s on so much medication and there is so much stigma around her mental illness and she’s also being severely gaslight by some of her neighbors. It’s really sad and hard to read in that perspective.

My mom recommended this to me and sent me this copy and she really liked this one. I liked it, don’t get me wrong, but it was just a big hard to follow sometimes!

TW: PTSD, alcoholism, pill use/abuse, agoraphobia, murder, loss of a loved one/child

I gave this one ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars. It was pretty good!

My six word review:
Our brains can do scary things!
