Twice in a blue moon

I don’t know what I think about this one. I love the authors and their work, and I flew through this one but I think I let other people’s reviews taint my own perception. On my own I’d give this a 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ because it was good but I struggled a bit with some unlikable characters and a few weaker plot points.

I worry that I give too many 4 and 5 star reviews but I genuinely just love reading and love almost everything I read even if it’s not perfect.

Summary: Twice in a blue moon had the perfect second chance romance plot starting with Tate and her grandmothers trip to London and a chance meeting with Sam and his father figure on their trip in London. Tate and Sam were love at first sight but it ended, with a massive heartbreak and betrayal at the end of a few week trip. Years later, they accidentally reconnect as they both live their dreams (that wouldn’t have happened if there wasn’t a massive heartbreak and betrayal). As you can see, my heart hurt for them when their trip to London ended so badly, but if that wouldn’t have happened Tate and Sam wouldn’t have become the people they were supposed to be and it was really just so hard to come to terms with that it had to happen that way.

Spoiler** It all works out in the end because they end up happy and together so I’m happy tbh but I want to addrsss the top complaints of this book.

Many people say the book needed more time to fully tell the story, and I’m never going to disagree. I always want more! A lot of people think the father character is not great, and I agree. There is so much more that could’ve been done with that father daughter relationship. It felt very fake and not in like a “they are actors” way but in like “this just doesn’t feel like actual humans” way. But it sorta worked and It wasn’t enough for me to stop reading.

I honestly loved this book. I love romances and second chances and anything just slightly cliche or far fetched is going to earn a spot in my heart. The ending of this book felt like a hug.

My six word review:
I believe in a second chance.
